The demons come from beyond.
The meeting of demons is a concept in Japanese folklore. They come from all possible and impossible realms, taking all possible and impossible forms. 
NIGHTPARADE honors this concept. Each production includes at least two artists from dissimilar places. 

Their commonality is curiosity.
Humans interpret the demon's actions as malicious or helpful. This interpretation grows from an anthropocentric root.
NIGHTPARADE rejects this interpretation. Their behavior evades human judgement and evaluation. They merely do as they do. 

They develop & ​move together.
Demons traverse and transgress invisible boundaries to meet each other. Across borders, they meet. Across languages, they meet. Across time, they meet. 

The meeting of demons concept continues to be interpreted, 500 years after the first documented artistic representation.
